RETA deregistration, separate from the census

Ceasing as an autónomo takes two deregistrations. One at Social Security and one on the Tax Agency census.

Social Security does not see the census deregistration

RETA deregistration is filed at Social Security. The census deregistration is filed at the Tax Agency. Reporting only one leaves the other in force: you can stay registered in one place and deregistered in the other.

  • RETA: deregistration at Social Security.
  • Census: deregistration at the Tax Agency.
  • Stopping requires both.

The app files neither

Factura Fácil does not file the RETA deregistration or the census deregistration. You can stop issuing invoices in the account, and that does not report the cessation. The filings stay with you, at each administration.

Common questions

Does the census deregistration take me out of RETA?

No. They are different filings. When you stop you need the census deregistration and the RETA deregistration.

Does the app report the cessation if I stop invoicing?

No. It files neither the RETA deregistration nor the census one. Stopping new invoices does not notify Social Security.
